Our Wedding

Joel and I met in November of 2019 on JSwipe, a Jewish dating app. I was captivated by Joel's hiking pictures and chuckled at his bio, which read: "I'm not that tall, so I'm pretty down to earth," while mine read: "I could be the nice Jewish girl you bring home to your grandma." We quickly hit it off and exchanged numbers; as some might say, it all began with a Swipe! The beginning of our relationship withstood a worldwide pandemic; if we could make it through COVID, we could make it through anything. Then in the spring of 2021, I got accepted into my doctoral program in San Diego, Joel's hometown! Within a year we packed up and moved and cherished every moment we spent with family, close friends, and new connections made along the way. Now, Joel and I (and Cosmo) are back in our favorite place, Colorado, home to where we fell in love at the Ice Castles in Dillon, to our favorite ski resort, Vail, where we got engaged on the top of the mountain, and home to our Alma Mater, CU Boulder, where we love to visit our beloved Ralphie. Joel and l are the perfect pair. Our shared passions of skiing, dog videos, travel, green onions, hiking, leaf peeping, Asian food, and family bring us closer together each day, creating a life of deep love, connection, and adventure. As we embark on the next chapter of our journey together, we are so excited to share our special day with our most treasured friends and family :)

Wedding Day and Reception

The venue doors open at 5 pm and the wedding will start promptly at 5:30 pm. Travel time from the Denver Marriott South tothe Sanctuary is about 15-20 minutes. Please allow time for valet parking, uber, etc. The evening will end at 11 pm. Bus transportation will be provided to and from theDenver Marriott South and the Sanctuary Golf Course. Transportation to the Sanctuary- the bus will depart from the Denver Marriott South at 4:45 pm. There will be two opportunities to take the bus back to the Marriott. The first shuttle will leave the Sanctuary at 10 pm. A second shuttle will be leaving the Sanctuary at the end of the evening at 11 pm. Please note that on a Sunday evening, Uber and Lyft might be difficult to obtain last minute. We suggest that if this is your preferred transportation to arrange for pick-up in advance.

Before we wrap up this celebratory weekend, we would love to have you join us for a farewell brunch where we can say our goodbyes to the newlyweds. Welcome to Denver! Our "wedding" hotel is the Denver Marriott South. Please use the link to get the best rate for the room block. There are many other options in the area and we have listed a few below.

Please use the booking link for the wedding room rate. The room rate here is $159 plus taxes. Bus transportation to and from the wedding will leave from this hotel.

This hotel is a little closer to the mountains and to our home in Highlands Ranch. A nice option for those who might want to stay in a different area but still convenient to the venues.

Wedding Attire

Our wedding attire is black-tie optional. We want the look to be elegant and timeless. For men:&nbsp;A suit or tuxedo is welcomed. Dress shoes are a must—please no sneakers or casual wear. For ladies: A sophisticated cocktail dress, midi or floor-length gown, or a chic jumpsuit in elegant fabrics. Think sophisticated yet celebratory—nothing too casual, but no need for a ballgown. We can't wait to celebrate with you in style!

Can I bring a date? 

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for your understanding!

Are kids invited? 

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event, unless otherwise specified on your invite. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

Is there transportation to the wedding?

Yes, there is bus transportation "to" and "from " the Marriott to the venue.&nbsp;See the "Schedule of Events" page for details.

The Bridal Party

As the sister of the bride, I have years and years of memories with Alissa.  What began as bickering over toy horses and polly pockets evolved into one of my closest friendships- eating chamoy pickles and weird foods from TikTok trends, learning how to make gourmet ramen, and so many other goofy things I cherish. I believe most sisters out there wish for a sisterhood like ours. And  I couldn’t be happier to welcome Joel to the family, who now joins Alissa and I in our strange endeavors. I can’t wait for the big day!

Rachel Wolsky

Alissa is my lifelong best friend and soulmate. We met when we were just two years old and ended up in the same kindergarten class. From that moment on, we were inseparable. When I found out Alissa was moving from Solon to Colorado, I was devastated and worried about our friendship. Little did I know, the distance would only bring us closer. We visited each other multiple times a year, and after college, fate brought us together again when we unexpectedly ended up living in San Diego for three amazing years. Our friendship has been a constant in my life, and I’m so grateful for every moment we’ve shared. I cannot wait to stand by her side and watch her marry the love of her life!

I am so incredibly honored to be by Alissa’s side on her wedding day marrying the love of her life 🤍 I met the bride through graduate school and although the struggle has been REAL for us both the last 4 years, the one thing that has gotten us through is each other. My best friend, my ride or die, my anchor, I couldn’t be more thankful to have her in my life and to be a part of this beautiful celebration of love.

While some think of middle school as some of the more awkward times of Bermuda shorts and braces, Alissa and I met the first day of 8th grade at Ranch View Middle School in science class, and with our bestie chemistry- we instantly became inseparable! 😉 From Chick-Fil-A car breakfasts, to shredding the gnar on Hairbag Alley or topping off the afternoon with some popping boba, anytime spent with Shugs is always time well spent! I couldn’t be more excited & honored to stand by her side on her special day! 🤍

I have known Alissa since 2016 thanks to my cousin and Alissa’s bestie, Hayley. We quickly bonded over our love for Disney and have been close friends ever since! I love Alissa’s positive spirit and can-do attitude. I can always count on her and I am beyond honored to stand by her side on such a special day!

Alissa and I braved living in a quad room in our sorority house sophomore year. Ever since then, she has been one of my greatest friends. From teaching me how to ski, to standing by my side at my wedding and being one of my baby boy’s aunties, we have been through it all. I can’t wait to stand by her side and cheer her on every step of the way.

As Joel's sister, I've known him since he was born in 1996; I met Alissa when she and Joel began dating in late 2019. I am delighted to be welcoming Alissa as a sister in 2025. From random questions that make me think to silly games, she is a joy to be around, a sparkling personality, and a warm, compassionate soul who will make Joel's life (and mine) better for being in it.

I am the fiancée of Alissa’s older brother, Ryan. I first met Alissa and Joel during a weekend trip in Las Vegas, not long after Ryan and I started dating. From the very beginning, Alissa made me feel like part of the family with her friendly and caring personality. I’m so honored and excited to stand by her side as she marries her best friend!

Joel and I met during freshman year of college and later became roommates for 3 of the 4 years in college and after graduation as well. 
I’m James Litsey. I’m originally from Texas, but moved to Colorado for college. After college I got a job as a consultant and have lived in Denver ever since.

I met Joel during undergrad engineering at CU Boulder where I did my best to keep Joel out of, or at least well distracted in, the Gemmill Math Library. We first shared the common pain of applied math classes, but then we found our shared interests in sports, hiking, and now skiing!


Trevor Goldman

Joel and I met in 2021 as our significant others (Alissa and Mika) started their doctorate program down in San Diego! It didn’t take long for us to have our first meet up at Mavericks in Pacific Beach to watch some preseason football. Our love for sports and football kick started our friendship and we were hanging out almost weekly! I currently live in Sacramento working remotely for a marketing agency based in San Diego and enjoy golfing on the weekends to work on my swing!

Lucas Dominé

Joel and I met back in middle school in San Diego and have been friends ever since. Our shared sense of humor, passion for traveling, and interest in football led to some great memories over the years. We've traveled to two different continents (Europe and Asia) together. I once made Joel walk 4 miles just for a bag of peanuts.

Eydan Fishel

As the Brother of the bride, my finest moment was when I almost ruined Joel and Alissa's engagement by making snow angels in the background of their photos. When I'm not busy critiquing Joel's fantasy football team, you can find me struggling to keep up with Alissa on the slopes.

I'm the fiancé of Alissa’s older sister, Rachel. Joel and I became friends years ago when Joel and Alissa first started dating and have evolved our friendship over the years through skiing and talking sports. I am thrilled to call Joel my brother and look forward to celebrating Alissa and Joel!

Enjoy the day by checking out a mountain town! The town of Evergreen is about a 40 minute drive. There are hiking trails as well as restaurants and shopping. For something closer, try the town of Golden, or even closer, Morrison or downtown Littleton. These close by towns have restaurants, boutiques, and other local flavors!
